Use this process to propose a new undergraduate course.
Use this process to modify an existing undergraduate course (i.e., change the prefix, number, lab code, course title, transcript title, credit hours, contact hours, rotating and variable topic options, repeatable credit and S/U options, prerequisites, co-requisites and/or course description) or to close (terminate) an existing undergraduate course.
Use this process to create a 5000 level course.
Use this process to modify a 5000 level course.
Use this process to create a permanent course for the Quest Program.
Use this process to add, modify or remove a general education or writing requirement designation for an existing or pending undergraduate course. Note that a pending course must already have been approved by the UCC, but need not have received a course number from SCNS.
Use this process to provide materials in response to a notification from the Office of Undergraduate Affairs that a general education course is due for recertification.
Use this process to transfer ownership of an undergraduate course.
A specialization or track is an organized undergraduate curriculum within an undergraduate major. This is offered as part of a major and enhances or complements the major in a manner which leads to specific educational or occupational goals.
Use this process to propose the creation of a new undergraduate specialization.
Use this process to modify an existing undergraduate specialization (i.e., change the required or elective coursework, eight-semester plan or critical tracking). Do not use this process to change the limited access status of a specialization or to close (terminate) a specialization.
Use this process to renew the Specialized Admissions status of an existing undergraduate specialization. Do not use this process to otherwise modify an existing specialization. Note that changing the required credits of a specialization necessitates changing the required credits of the degree program.
Use this process to close (terminate) an undergraduate specialization. Do not use this process to close a major or a degree program.
A major is an organized curriculum offered as part or all of a degree program. A major may have the same name as the degree program, but the CIP code is assigned to the degree program. Creation of a major that will not be associated with an existing degree program requires the creation of a new degree program.
Use this process to create a new major under an existing undergraduate degree program. The major must be reasonably associated with the degree program and share common core courses with any other major(s) in the same degree program.
Use this process to modify the required or elective coursework in an undergraduate major, or the eight-semester plan or critical tracking in an undergraduate major. Do not use this process to close (terminate) a major. Note that changing the required credits of a major requires changing the credits of the degree program. Changes to honors criteria for a major do not require approval above the level of the college and therefore need not be submitted using the academic approval tracking system.
Use this process to change the Specialized Admissions status of an undergraduate major. Do not use this process to propose any other changes to a major.
Use this process to change the name of an existing undergraduate major. Do not use this process to change the name of a degree program.
Use this process to modify the delivery platform of an existing major to include offering it through UF Online.
Use this process to close (terminate) an undergraduate major in a degree program with two or more existing majors. Note that closing a major in a degree program that consists of only a single major amounts to closing the degree program, which instead must be requested using the process for closing a degree program.
A for-credit certificate is an organized curriculum of credit courses offered as a distinct area of study that leads to specific educational or occupational goals. Certificate programs may consist of courses that are part of a degree program or distinct courses that are created outside of any degree program.
Use this process to propose the creation of a new undergraduate certificate.
Use this process to modify an existing undergraduate certificate. Do not use this process to close (terminate) a certificate.
Use this process to close (terminate) an undergraduate certificate.
Use this process to offer a certificate through UF Online
A minor is an organized undergraduate curriculum that demonstrates a student has completed a significant body of work outside the undergraduate major, and which enhances or complements the degree in a manner which leads to specific educational or occupational goals.
Use this process to propose the creation of a new undergraduate minor.
Use this process to modify the required or elective coursework, description or name of a minor. Do not use this process to close (terminate) a minor.
Use this process to modify the delivery platform of an existing minor to include offering it through UF Online.
Use this process to close (terminate) an undergraduate minor.
A degree program is assigned a CIP code and includes at least one major, although it may have multiple majors. A single degree program may contain multiple majors that share common core courses (for example, BA and BS degrees may be offered in the same degree program).
Use this process to propose the creation of a new undergraduate degree program.
Use this process to change the total required credits of an undergraduate degree program.
Use this process to renew the specialized admissions status of an undergraduate degree program. Specialized admissions status creates selective admission to limit enrollment within a degree program and may be justified when student demand exceeds available resources
Use this process to change the name of an undergraduate degree program.
Use this process to modify the currently approved common prerequisites for an undergraduate degree program.
Use this process to close (terminate) an undergraduate degree program. Reasons for program closure (termination) include insufficient enrollment or student interest, duplicate programs, misalignment with mission or strategic plan, or changes in the discipline.
Use this process to suspend or reactivate an undergraduate degree program. Programs with consistently low enrollments, or programs that are not currently active, should be suspended or closed. Suspended programs are still required to perform any required annual or cyclic reviews.
Use this process to propose the creation of a new joint (undergraduate/graduate) degree program.
Use this process to propose the creation of a new joint (undergraduate/professional) degree program.
An Academic Assessment Plan (AAP) documents the Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) for a degree program. Every major must be accompanied by an AAP. More information is available on the Office of Institutional Assessment website.
The Academic Learning Compact (ALC) documents the Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs). Every major must be accompanied by an ALC. More information is available on the Office of Institutional Assessment website.
