To complete the University Writing Requirement, students must take sufficient courses designated with the writing attribute to equal 24,000 words. This approval system request allows submitters to add or remove a Writing Requirement designation for an existing course.
UF offers several opportunities to teach a course that counts toward the University Writing Requirement. Such a course falls under one of the following three categories:
A Writing designation may only be requested for an existing course (i.e., one that has a permanent course number) that meets UF Writing requirements. If the course for which a Writing designation is being sought has an incomplete request pending in the Academic Approval Tracking system, meaning it is not yet in Approved status, then you should not complete this request until that pending request has been completed.
The Academic Approval Tracking system will automatically route the request (including all accompanying forms and documents) to the following groups for approval and/or notification.
